Vacationing with Anne Frank

It's time!!
It's vacation time!!
We have yet to tell the kids, they'll be ever so thrilled when they find out (or when they see me packing). We just made reservations yesterday.
We're vacationing with the family to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. Our anniversary isn't until Tuesday actually, but this weekend we wanted to spend it with the kids and then go out for a date alone on Tuesday.
We're excited and looking forward to some rest and relaxation!

I also wanted to share with you about a Masterpiece Classic TV show airing on PBS this Sunday, April 11th at 9pm. It's about the Diary of Anne Frank. I'm sure you all know who Anne Frank is. She is one of the most renowned and most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The Frank family moved from Germany to Amsterdam in 1933, the same year the Nazis gained power in Germany. By the beginning of 1940 they were trapped in Amsterdam due to the Nazis occupation of the Netherlands.
As persecutions of the Jewish population increased in July 1942, the family went into hiding in the hidden rooms of Anne's father Otto Frank's office building. That's were the diary of Anne Frank story began, I don't want to tell you more for the fear of giving away the movie. But it is sure a classic you won't want to miss. Our children have books about the Frank family and we'll be watching the show despite being on vacation. It's a show we've been looking forward to watching for quite some time. Our children have studied their family during school and are really looking forward to seeing this broadcast. Hope you get to see it too! Check your local TV listings!
We'll catch you on the other side of our vacation!
Have a fun weekend!
